Privacy Policy for ScanDoc

ScanDoc is a document scanning and image processing application. This Privacy Policy explains how ScanDoc handles information when you use the application.

1. Information We Collect

ScanDoc does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, password, or other personal account information.

ScanDoc does not operate a user account system and does not intentionally collect personal information from users.

2. Photos, Images and Documents

ScanDoc allows you to:

  • Capture images using your device camera.

  • Select images from your device.

  • Crop and rotate images.

  • Process and clean up scanned images.

  • Save scanned images.

  • Create PDF files.

  • Share scanned images and PDF files.

The images and documents that you select or create are processed by the application for these functions. ScanDoc does not upload your scanned images or PDF documents to a ScanDoc server. Your scanned files are saved on your device according to the storage options provided by Android and the application.

3. Camera Permission

ScanDoc may request camera permission when you choose to scan a document using the camera. Camera access is used to capture images for the scanning functionality. ScanDoc does not use the camera for background monitoring or recording.

4. Image Selection

When you choose an image from your device, ScanDoc uses Android's supported image-selection mechanisms to allow you to select the image that you want to process. The application does not require access to your entire photo library solely to process an image that you choose.

5. File Storage

Scanned images and PDF files created by ScanDoc may be saved to storage on your Android device. These files remain under your control. You can manage or delete them using the application, Android's file management features, or other appropriate applications on your device.

6. File Sharing

When you choose to share a scanned image or PDF, ScanDoc uses Android's sharing mechanisms to provide the selected file to an application chosen by you. The receiving application may handle the shared file according to its own privacy policy.

7. Third-Party Services

The current version of ScanDoc does not use advertising services, analytics services, or other third-party services to collect users' personal information.

If third-party services are added in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated as necessary to describe their applicable data practices.

8. Data Security

ScanDoc does not intentionally upload scanned documents or images to a ScanDoc server. Files stored on your device are protected by the security mechanisms of your Android device and storage system. No method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

ScanDoc does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The application does not require users to create accounts or provide personal profile information.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

ScanDoc does not maintain a ScanDoc server account containing users' scanned documents or images. Files created by ScanDoc are stored on the user's device and can be deleted by the user using Android's file management tools.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if ScanDoc functionality, services, or data practices change. When changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be published on the privacy-policy webpage associated with the application.
